Completion of the INCB tools Training

The GCC-CIC along with the UNODC INCB, organized a training on the INCB tools for the Law Enforcement and Staff. It explored the Navigation and use of the Various INCB tools and discussions related to real cases in Combating Narcotic Drugs, NPS and Precursors.

Preventing the misuse of social media platforms to promote & sell drugs

The GCC Criminal Information Center to Combat Drugs, in cooperation with the General Force of Dubai Police, represented by ​Hemaya International Center at the General Department of Drug Control, organized a workshop titled "Preventing the Exploitation of Social Media in the Sale and Promotion of Drugs" at the Dubai Police Officers Club. The workshop was attended by Major General Eid Mohammed Thani Harib, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs; Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the Cybersecurity Council for the Government of the UAE; Brigadier Khalid bin Mowaiza, Director of the General Department of Drug Control; Brigadier Dr. Abdul Rahman Sharaf Al Mamari, Director of the International Protection Center; Colonel Mohamed Abdullah Al Khater, Director of the GCC-CIC, as well as representatives from the United Nations, the Arab Office for Drug Control affiliated with the Arab Interior Ministers Council, the Australian Federal Police Office, the Drug Control Police in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and a number of officers.

This workshop comes in implementation of the decisions of the Interior Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries at their forty-first meeting in Doha in November of last year to discuss the best ways to prevent the misuse of social media platforms in the sale and promotion of drugs.

UNODC Country office in Afghanistan Director visits the Center

The GCC-CIC Director Col. Mohammed Al Khater meets with Mr. Polleak Serei, the UNODC Office representative for Afghanistan as they discuss the current situation of Drugs in the region & future bilateral cooperation. 

The visit concluded with future cooperation and Meetings between both parties in Matters related to Drugs Trafficking.

Brigadier Al-Amimi appreciates the efforts of the Criminal Information Center for Combating Drugs in Doha

During a visit by the Assistant Secretary-General for Security Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council, His Excellency Brigadier Hamad Ajlan Misfer Al-Amimi, to the GCC Criminal Information Center on the 27th of September, 2023, he praised the center's role and efforts in enhancing Gulf security cooperation in the field of combating drugs and transnational organized crime.

For his part, the Director of the Center, Brigadier Issa Saeed Zaid Al-Kuwari, emphasized strengthening Gulf cooperation to develop the security system, especially in the field of combating the illicit trafficking of narcotics and psychoactive substances.
